In early 2018, two members of the Unofficial Duran Duran Message Board, John Archbell and Jeff Bistline, devised and created a survey with a view to determine what kind of memorabilia Duran Duran fans would appreciate more, in time for when the band would eventually kick off their own 40th Anniversary celebrations – or better known as DD40, later in the year.
After receiving approximately 400 responses from Duran Duran fans across the world, with their filled in questionaires, the results were presented to the bands’ Manager, Wendy Laister at Magus Entertainments.
Thinking they had a strong case, due to the overwhelming, positive feedback from the fans, they waited for a reply and a subsequent decision that we could feed back to their fans.
The seasons came and went and nothing ever came back from Magus. It was then discovered DDHQ were planning on deferring DD40 to 2021 and to celebrate it on the 40th year from when their first single Planet Earth debuted in the UK, in January 1981.
This exhaustive booklet is testament to the passion, grit and dogged determination by the team who desperately wanted to be heard, on behalf of the thousands of Duran Duran fans that still fly the flag for the band from Birmingham, UK.
